Old coins and buried hoards
A 'hoard' is a group of coins hidden together and never recovered: under a floor, in a buried jar. They usually tell of a flight, a war, someone who never came back.
The strange part is that rarity alone doesn't set value — demand does. A common Roman coin can beat a rare one from a series nobody collects. The market rewards stories, not scarcity.
